Fourth Annual Wisconsin Sustainability &

Energy Efficiency (SE2) Leadership Awards

 

On Wednesday, September 13, 2007, the fourth annual Sustainability & Energy Efficiency (SE2) Leadership Awards were presented at a noon luncheon in conjunction with the 2007 Greening the Heartland/SE2 Conference held at Monona Terrace in Madison, WI. The awards were presented in front of an audience of more than 600 conference attendees from Wisconsin and eighteen other states.

 

Eight awards in three categories were given.  The award winners are:

 Awards of Excellence

- Aldo Leopold Legacy Center in Baraboo, submitted by The Kubala Washatko Architects

- LEED-CI Architects’ Office, Milwaukee submitted by HGA Architects

 

Awards of Merit

- Tri-North Builders Corporate Headquarters, Madison, submitted by Tri-North Builders

- Northland Pines High School, Eagle River, submitted by Hoffman, LLC

 

Special Citations

- Dane County Regional Airport, Madison submitted by Architectural Alliance

- 245 Plaza, Brookfield, submitted by Liberty Property Trust,

- Rosemary Garfoot Public Library, Cross Plains, submitted by BSA Architects

- City Wide Recyclling Facility, Milwaukee, submitted by EarthTech

 

 

For the last four years, six professional organizations and associations and the energy efficiency program in the state (AIA Wisconsin, Energy Center of Wisconsin, ASHRAE--Wisconsin Section, Illuminating Engineering Society--Milwaukee Section, Wisconsin Green Building Alliance, IFMA--Wisconsin Section, and Focus on Energy) have worked together to create this award program, which recognizes leadership in energy efficient and sustainable design, construction and operation of Wisconsin commercial and other non-residential buildings. The goal of the award is to encourage greater collaboration among owners, designers, builders, and operators by highlighting the value of projects that enhance the built environment.

 

The SE2 Award is jointly created and sponsored by the following organizations:
