On November 10, 2003 Wisconsin Green Building Alliance became an official affliate of the US Green Building Council. During the Chapter Day activites at the USGBC annual conference in Pittsburgh, Jim Wasley, WGBA president, accepted the Affiliate plaque and banner.
As one of six USGBC affiliates, WGBA joins Pittsburgh Green Building Alliance, Cleveland Green Building Alliance, The Green Roundtable (Boston), Southface (Atlanta) and the Green Building Association of Central Pennsylvania--all established and vibrant organizations that have accepted the charge to move green building forward as a national movement. Affiliate status provides a channel through which USGBC and WGBA can develop joint projects and relationships in order to promote each other’s shared goals, to collaborate on advancing green building in the marketplace, to provide mutual support with organizational and programmatic development, and to optimize resources and avoid duplication. Membership in one organization doesn't automatically transfer to the other one, however. It's best to check with either WGBA or USGBC to see what your membership status is.
