The Wisconsin Sustainability & Energy Efficiency Awards (SE²) recognize leadership in energy efficient and sustainable design in Wisconsin commercial buildings and related systems. Under the 2008 award program, multifamily buildings of sixteen units or more with a central plant are also eligible for the SE² award. The goal is to encourage greater collaboration among owners, designers, builders and operators by highlighting the value of projects that enhance the built environment.

Award categories are not pre-determined, but the following projects are examples of what may be considered: whole building design, building systems design and construction, innovative approaches, and operations and maintenance. Other project types may be submitted for consideration. The multi-disciplinary nature of many of these project types is of special interest.
